To view your step count on a specific day in the past, tap the calendar icon titled today at the bottom of the health. Basically, you can begin tracking any activity by tapping the edit button. You can track steps on iphone using the health app, but you can also use the app to track a wide variety of other things. The health app, loaded onto all iphones with ios 8 and sitting prominently on the home screen, is clearly ambitious, but at the moment the majority of it’s intended abilities remain inactive or useless (at least without additional third party sensors, which don’t seem to exist yet).
